Lillian Gullikson

Lillian Gullikson, 87, Bismarck, died March 1, 2004 at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Rick Fossum officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Lillian was born August 19, 1916 in Werner, ND, to Charles and Emma Pulver Mutschler. She moved to Goodrich with her parents as a toddler. Lillian attended school in Goodrich graduating from high school in 1934. She taught in a country school north of McClusky and then went to Bismarck to attend business college. Upon completion of college, she was employed at the state capitol. Lillian and George Gullikson, Jr. of Bismarck were united in marriage December 7, 1940 in Las Vegas, Nev. They made their home in California where both were employed. In 1948 they returned to North Dakota and opened a Coast to Coast store in Goodrich which they operated for a short time. They returned to California, settling in Burbank. She was an avid baseball fan enjoying watching, her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves play. Lillian also enjoyed the Lawrence Welk Show on TV. Her great nieces and nephews were her special delight. She and George spent many happy times attending antique shows, swap meets, and traveling in their RV. A highlight of their travels was an Alaskan Cruise. In 1994, Lillian and George moved from California to Bismarck to make their home. George died in 1999 and Lillian continued to live in their home until the fall of 2003 when she moved to Edgewood Vista. While she was hospitalized recently, she requested to be moved home. Her request was granted and she was able to enjoy her home until her death. Lillian is survived by her sister, Shirley Charles Faul of Goodrich/Texas; her nieces, Jan Jeff Darling of Boulder, CO, Darci Tim Frantz of Goodrich, and Traci Micah Fiske of Bismarck; her nephews, Tom Adura Faul of LaPorte, CO and Doug JaRae Faul of Black Forest, CO.; her four great-nephews, Cody and Casey Frantz of Goodrich and Brady and Bryce Faul of Black Forest, CO; her four great nieces, Stephanie Leavett of Worthington, SD, TaNette Faul, LaPorte, CO and Kaitlin and Kailey Fiske of Bismarck; and her special friends, Phyllis Mastel and Jane Ketterling both of Bismarck and Fran Young of Camarillo, CO. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the American Diabetes Foundation or St. Alexius Hospice and Home Care.
