Linda Doll

Linda Strobel Doll, 66, Bismarck, died March 9, 2015, at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 16, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 801 East Denver Avenue, Bismarck, with Rev. Les Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, March 15, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Linda was born October 5, 1948, in Harvey, ND, the third child, second daughter of John and Anna Mertz Strobel. She attended school in Denhoff, ND, and Goodrich, ND, and graduated in 1967. While in school, Linda was active in band. She married Edmund Doll on December 28, 1968. Linda worked at Townhouse Inn now Kelly Inn, Bismarck Hospital now Sanford Health, Wills Seed Plant, and Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Linda retired in the mid-1980s due to health issues, specifically arthritis. She was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Linda loved to garden when able and was very proud of her beautiful flower beds. Butterflies held a special place with her. Her family was her everything. Linda is survived by her three daughters, Margaret John Sackman, Lincoln, ND, Dawn Steve Herman, Bismarck, ND, and Karen Rob Hardy, Mandan, ND; her grandchildren, Ray Natasha Huber, Abbe and John IV Sackman, Tyler and Jake Herman, Jocelyn Jolley, Bailey and Brooke Hardy; one great-grandchild, Nora Huber; her siblings, Forrest Sandy Strobel, Clifton, CO, Gertie Willie Laib, New Rockford, ND, Mary Bill Werle, Velva, ND, and Debbie Gunsch, Mandan, ND; sisters-in-law, Bev Doll and Felicia Edward Schaff; her very special neighbor, Bob Giese; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edmund Doll; her parents, John and Anna Strobel; her brother, Johnny Strobel; her in-laws, Thomas and Margaret Doll; brothers-in-law, Ervin Gunsch, Cam Doll, and Dean Doll; sisters-in-law, Judy Strobel and Leocardia Doll; her son-in-law, Gerald Jerry Huber; her nephews, Bob Laib, Richard Ricky Werle; and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bismarck Cancer Center, 500 N 8th St, Bismarck, ND 58501.
