Lorraine Kudrna

Lorraine M. Kudrna, 73, Bismarck, was called home by our Heavenly Father on February 4, 2007, in the presence of her loving family. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Church of Corpus Christi with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM Tuesday at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Lorraine M. Wandler was born on December 22, 1933, in the Sheffield community to Dominic and Catherine Greff Wandler, one of fourteen children. She attended St. Pius Catholic School in Sheffield. Lorraine married the love of her life, Albert F. Kudrna, on June 22, 1959. They lived in Dickinson for 18 years. In 1977, they moved to Bismarck where they have since resided. Lorraine worked for the Bismarck Public School system as a bus driver for 19 years. Even being a smaller lady, it was nothing for her to drive her school bus with a stick shift when most others couldn?t. Having a very strong Catholic faith, she was a member of the Church of Corpus Christi. In her spare time, Lorraine enjoyed crocheting beautiful doilies that her family will treasure forever. She was a wonderful cook and baker; there was nothing better than going to her home for that good home cooked meal. Anytime a new food item or fashion trend came out she would always say, "I can make that." We always stood behind her on that comment because we knew it was completely true. Lorraine was loved by all. She always had a warm smile and was very compassionate. From the pink foam curlers in her hair, to putting Crisco on her lips and hands, it not only showed her softness and beauty on the outside, but also within. She always kept herself busy and was so energetic. Even throughout the last years as she was ill, she would still play ball, jump around, and dance with her grandchildren. There was nothing that could stop her determination and love of life she had while on this earth. Lorraine was very close to her family. Her greatest pride and joy besides her husband and children, were her grandchildren, Markelle, Kylie, and Justin. Those who have been blessed to share her life with her include her loving and devoted husband, Albert; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Tim Njos of Ruso, ND, and Wanda and Greg Story of Bismarck, ND; her son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon and Donna Kudrna of Bismarck, ND; her three grandchildren, Markelle and Kylie Kudrna, and Justin Story; her three sisters, Magdelen Maggie Schoch of New England, ND, Katie Frank Fisher of Roseburg, OR, and twin sister, Florence Chadderdon of Couer d?Alene, ID; her brother-in-law, Paul J. Jahner of Mott, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers, Jerome, Dominic, Joseph, Leo, and Frank Wandler; and her five sisters, Bridget Messer, Pat Jahner, Genevieve Vondrachek, Beata Wandler, and Cecelia Wandler. The Kudrna family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Medcenter One Oncology department for taking extra special care of our wife, mother, and grandmother.
