Lowell Eugene Camp

Lowell Camp, 93, passed from this life into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on January 11, 2015. He was under family and respite care at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with the Rev. Scott Bauman officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Lowell Eugene Camp was born June 5, 1921, on the family farm in Woods Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota. He was one of seven children born to Edward and Helen Mahlow Camp. Although he received only eight years of formal education, his natural ability to perform math equations in his head was amazing. He was well-read on a myriad of topics, but was most passionate about his faith in Jesus Christ, his love of family, and his love for this country. This is the legacy that will live on in his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He served his country honorably in WWII, guarding and transporting prisoners of war in Germany and France. After returning home, he met the woman who would share his life for fifty-six years. Lowell and Rose Hollen Camp were married October 15, 1946, at the parsonage in Sunburg, Minnesota. In 1953, Lowell and Rose moved to Bismarck, where Lowell and his brother established Camp Brothers Heating and Air. Lowell retired in 1986. We grieve his passing, but we know he was ready to meet his Savior, and join his sweet Rose. Lowell is survived by his children, Patricia Steve Bain, their children, Sarah Bain; Michael Amber Bain, their daughter, Avigail; Kayla Jared Blackwood, their children, Jacob and Jenna, all of Bismarck; his son, Jim Terri, Bismarck, their children, Nicki Ryan Williams, their children, Wyatt and Brigit, Edina, MN; Jeffrey Tawny, Bismarck; his daughter, Donna Jerry Breidenbach, Bismarck, their children, Amanda Breidenbach, her children Noah and Dylan, Washburn; Jamey Steph, his son, Jeran, Bismarck; Jon Amanda Jo, Mandan; his daughter, RhondaRandy Camp-Pfaff, her daughter, Rachael fiancé Russell Martinson, her son Adam, Fargo; his granddaughter Shawna Mike Inglehart, her son, Brytin, Garrison. He also leaves his sister, Marion Fitzpatrick, Federal Way, WA; brothers, Harry Dolores, Bismarck; Edward, Tennessee Ridge, TN; brother-in law, Nick Walrath, Willmar, MN; sister-in-law, Arline Skindelien, Albuquerque, NM; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Norma Hollen, Glenwood, MN; Gene and Ethel Mellgren, St. Louis Park, MN; Richard and Audrey Larson, Red Oak, IA; Lowell and Mary Hollen, Brooten, MN; Morine and Inga Hollen, Sunburg, MN; Kermit and Frannie Hollen, Fridley, MN, and their extended families. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose, in 2002; his daughter, Linda; his great-grandson, little Justin; his parents; his brother, Lynn; his sisters, Delpha Walrath and Frieda Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Donald Johnson, Jim Fitzpatrick, Vernon Skindelien; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Hollen; nephews Randy Hollen, and Michael Hollen; and a niece, Susan Ricard.
