Marian D Berg

Marian Berg, 82, Bismarck, went home to be with her heavenly Father on September 5, 2011, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, September 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, September 8, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Marian was born July 1, 1929, in Oliver County, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Eva Mosbrucker Brilz. She was raised in Center where she attended and graduated from school. She worked at the Café in Center as well as a secretary for a lawyer. Marian married Anard Berg on December 17, 1947. A few years later, Marian and Anard went into farming and dairy business. She was a dedicated mother to her seven children. She was a wonderful homemaker, loved gardening, cleaning, canning and cooking. Marian was known as a lady with a "green thumb". She had many beautiful plants in her home and a yard full of beautiful flowers. At Christmas time, she enjoyed baking and serving many varieties of goodies to family and friends. She was a member of the Eagles and the Amvets. She also taught Sunday School and served as secretary and treasurer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Center and was a member of Ladies Aide and Auxiliary. In 1979, Marian and Anard retired and moved to Bismarck. Marian is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Cliff England, Bismarck; six sons and daughters-in-law, Doug Kathy, Maricopa, AZ, Dwight Debi, Cimmaron, KS, Dennis Phyllis, Bismarck, Darwin Pat, Bismarck, Dale Cindy Hannover, and David Gloria, Center; 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Schulte, Center, Willie Stockert, Washburn, and Kathryn Dinius, Washburn; and two sisters-in-law, Maggie Brilz, Minot, and Arlys Brilz, IA . Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eva Brilz; two brothers, Leo and Philipp Brilz; one sister, Rose Dilger; ex-husband, Anard Berg; daughter-in-law, Lucinda; and one granddaughter, Carrie Berg. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
