Marjorie Buth

Marjorie Buth, 84, Bismarck, died November 4, 2011, at Missouri Slope Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Marjorie was born on August 28, 1927, on a farm in Greenfield Township, ND. She was the daughter of Paul and Nora Hanson Jorgenson. After graduating from Hunter High School in 1945, she worked in various offices in Hunter and Fargo. Marjorie married Harold Buth on December 24, 1949. Harold's work took them to many places such as Grants Pass, OR, Freemont, NE, Sioux City, IA, Aberdeen, SD, Bismarck, ND, and Williston, ND. While moving to the various cities, Marjorie worked as an accounts payable clerk for retail stores, keypunch operator for banks, claims adjudicator for insurance companies, and eventually with Harold in his insurance office. After retirement, they moved back to Bismarck. Marjorie loved to cook, bake, read, crochet, play games, and needlepoint. She also loved to be outdoors and plant flowers around the house as well as sitting on the deck or patio just being with her family. Her greatest joys in life were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marjorie will be deeply missed by those surviving her including three sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry of Fargo, Wayne of Bismarck, and Jason and Karen Stulce of Palestine, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Bruce Magstadt of Bismarck; three grandchildren, Chris Dawn, Dustin Melissa, and Cassandra; four great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Alexis, Mason, and Ehli; two brothers, John Joyce of Hunter and Parnell Jean of Sierra Vista, AZ; three sisters, Esther of Fargo, Dona of Overland Park, KS, and Jane Don of Mahnomen, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Earl; and one sister, Clara.
