Marjorie Cossette

Marjorie Ann Cossette, 85, Bismarck, died December 24, 2007, at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Moorhead, MN, at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. Marjorie was born on October 27, 1922, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of John and Jennie Hanson Zenk. She grew up and lived in Fargo. Marjorie married Carol Cossette on November 11, 1944. They lived in Fargo until 1954 when they along with their three children moved to Lakota. After three years in Lakota and the addition of another child, the family moved to Devils Lake. In Devils Lake, the family was completed with another three children. Before marrying Carol, Marjorie worked as a secretary at NDSU Seed Department. Upon the birth of her children, she stayed home to raise her family. Following the death of her husband in 1966, she returned to work as a secretary at St. Mary's High School in Devils Lake and began the task of raising her seven children as a single parent. In 1978 she moved to Bismarck to begin work at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit and to be closer to her grandchildren. She continued working at Cathedral and raising her family until retiring at age 70. Marjorie spent the past 15 years enjoying time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, visiting with friends and family, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and listening to talking books. Everyone that knew Marjorie loved her quick wit, sense of humor, and concern for others. Marjorie is survived by her sister, Charolotte Lloyd Williams of Fargo, ND; and her seven children, Carolyn Tom Hesford of Bismarck, ND, John Karla Cossette of Klamath Falls, OR, Nancy Keith Strand of Devils Lake, ND, Bob Yvonne Elgaen, fiancee of Underwood, ND, Jim Cossette of Bismarck, ND, Barry Karen Cossette of Bismarck, ND, and Amy TomBrozik of Spokane, WA. In addition, she is survived by 17 grandchildren, Steve, Jennifer, Michael, Allie, Jason, Adrian, Jessica, Ryan, Lisa Marj, Lacy, Tyler, Kristin, Alicia, Erica, Will, Samantha, and Nicholas; and 10 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Dillon, Jaden, Jackson, Isiah, Kael, Carter, Holly, Harley, and Catherine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carol; and her granddaughter, Carol Catherine in 1995.
