Mary Anderson

Mary Lydia Turnbow Anderson, 81, a long-time resident of Bismarck, ND, was called home by the angels of our Lord, November 25, 2003, after battling a long illness. She was the wife of Robert C. Anderson, also of Bismarck. Services will be held Friday, November 28, at 11:00 AM in the Church of Saint Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday with vigil services being held at 7:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service. Mary was born August 20, 1922 in Bismarck, the daughter of Samuel Turnbow and Lilian Morris Turnbow. She graduated from Saint Mary's High School in Bismarck, and then worked in the North Dakota Auditor's Office. She married Robert C. Anderson, her husband of over 56 years, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bismarck on June 16, 1947. She left work to raise her three daughters and worked along side her husband for more than 30 years, as the bookkeeper for the family owned business, Bob's Body Shop. After 32 years of business they both retired and Mary lovingly devoted her time to her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Mary can be remembered as a person who loved and cherished her family and was always ready and willing to assist anyone in need. Over the years, she opened her home and her heart to many individuals. Mary will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She leaves her loving husband, Robert C. Anderson of Bismarck; three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Harsche, Roberta Anderson, and Mary and Marvin Splonskowski all of Bismarck; three grandchildren, Shelli Harsche Herman of Fargo, Mandi Splonskowski of Bismarck, and Shane Splonskowski of Denver; and one great grandchild Abigail Claire Herman of Fargo. She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Mack of Bismarck and Catherine Entze of Beulah; one brother, William Turnbow of Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lilian, two brothers, Joseph Turnbow and George Turnbow and one sister, Eunice Turnbow Sabot.
