Mildred Heyne

Mildred S. Heyne, 88, Bismarck, died September 25, 2010 in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Larry Giese officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. 6 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Mildred was born December 19, 1921 in Heil, ND, the daughter of Hayden and Ella Schultz Sebastian. She was raised in Heil and attended Heil grade school and high school. She graduated from Carson High School in 1939. Following graduation, Mildred taught school in rural Grant County. She then went on to attend and graduate from Christy Beauty School in Bismarck in 1942. She worked in Bismarck and Grant County as a beautician until retiring in the late 1960?s. She maintained her cosmetology license for more than 65 years. Mildred married August Heyne on May 16, 1945, in Wibaux, MT. They resided in Heil where Mildred owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for many years. In 1990 they moved to Bismarck. Mildred enjoyed fishing, oil painting, embroidering, and baking for her family and friends. She was a member of the Elgin Zion Lutheran Church and womens organization for over 40 years. Later she and August became members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bismarck. She was also a long time member of the Elgin American Legion Auxillary. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by her children, Patricia Dale Monson, St. Cloud, MN, Jack Heyne, Carson, ND, Jo?an Harold Huber, Ponte Vedra, FL; grandchildren, Alyssa Demers, Aren Monson, David Huber, Elizabeth Sims, Justin Heyne, Corby Heyne, Chris Heyne, Joe Heyne, and Cliff Heyne; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Ketterling, Bismarck, and Lucile Nagel, Heil; sister-in-law, Viola Sebastian, Bismarck, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Hayden and John Sebastian; and sisters, Esther Ferderer, Hazel Ketterling, Wilda Ketterling, and Joan Giese.
