Mildred "Millie" Larson

Mildred “Millie” Larson, 95, Tuttle, died August 15, 2010, at Medcenter One Mandan Living Center. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 20, 2010, at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial will be at Tuttle Cemetery, Tuttle. Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Millie A. Larson was born January 22, 1915, at Howard, SD, to Emil and Alberdena Hirchert Dehne. In 1917, the family moved to a farm south of Chaseley, ND. They lived and farmed in the Chaseley area until 1922, when they moved to a farm five miles north of Robinson. Millie attended school in Robinson and graduated there in 1934. She spent some time doing waitress work in cafes and helped her parents on the farm. On November 27, 1940, she married Ellsworth Larson. They farmed in the Chaseley, Robinson, and Tuttle areas until 1965, when they moved into Tuttle. They raised eight children together. Millie was the Fuller Brush lady for the Robinson and Tuttle areas for many years. Through the Green Thumb Program Millie worked as a Teachers Aide and helped children with special needs for Tuttle Public School from 1978 – 1980. She loved English and enjoyed working with the kids to pass on her knowledge. She enjoyed doing whatever she could for her children and spending time with them, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her family, the staff at the nursing homes and anyone who met her always enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humor. Millie is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law, Nadean Johnson, Bismarck, Coleen Zerr and special friend, Lloyd Seilinger, Pick City, Lorna Fetzer and special friend, Warren Wallenvien, Tuttle, and Rosanne and Ken Jose, Bismarck; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ellis, Bismarck, Sidney and DeLila and Lynn Sherman and Diane, all of Tuttle; daughter-in-law, Leona Rowe, Lewistown, MT; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; one sister, Delores Henke, Bismarck; one brother-in-law, Burl and Jean Larson, Rochester, MN; and one sister-in-law, Rachel Jorgenson, Hurdsfield. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; her parents; her son, Ernie; an infant daughter, Dawn Marie; her granddaughter, Roylene Johnson; her grandson, Jason Sorenson; her great-granddaughter, Amanda Heinz; sisters, Margaret Scherr and Esther Joos; her brother, Emil Dehne; and two sons-in-law, Roy Johnson and James Zerr.
