Nancy Burbach

Nancy J. Burbach, 50, Bismarck, passed away on October 2, 2007, at her home after a brief, acute illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, October 8, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tom Marcis officiating. Nancy was born on May 15, 1957, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Dr. O. Victor and Betty Bell Lindelow. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1975 and from Mary College now University of Mary in 1983 with a B.S. in social work and behavioral sciences. Nancy married Clete Burbach of Minot, ND, on June 4, 1983, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bismarck. Together they raised three daughters, Kara, Brynn, and Brittany, and maintained a close friendship after their separation. Nancy worked at a variety of positions in the social services field over the years. She was a member and volunteer for the Bis-Man Symphony League, Bismarck Arts and Galleries, and the Great Plains Jazz Society. Nancy had an innate love of nature, and was fond of walking the nature trails with her sister Susan and collecting bits of nature for various crafts and home decoration projects. Nancy loved animals and owned many pets in her lifetime. She was a warm person, loving all those around her, and displayed a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loyal friend and was drawn to helping others whenever she could. She was also a talented craftswoman, and one of her dearest possessions was her Dremel tool. Her hobbies were restoration of furniture, home decor, and working with tools. She was an avid collector of old books and artifacts. Primary to Nancy's life was her family. She had a close and continuing relationship with her parents, with her brothers and sister, and with her children. Nancy's resemblance to Princess Diana of Wales was noted by many, both those who knew her, and numerous complete strangers. In addition to looks, the two shared generous, compassionate hearts, loving relationships with their children, and unexpected, early deaths. Nancy is survived by her parents, Dr. O. Victor and Betty Bell Lindelow of Bismarck; her daughters, Kara C. Burbach of Bismarck, Brynn E. Burbach of Denver, CO, and Brittany A. Burbach of Bismarck; her brother, David M. Lindelow of Bismarck; her sister, Susan C. Stout of Bismarck; her brother, John E. Lindelow of Honolulu, HI; her ex-husband, Clete and his wife, Leslie Oliver; her nieces, Natalie E. Hemphill, Amber B. Meidinger, Jill Steinlie, and Madison Burbach; her nephews, Nathan J. Lindelow, Matthew Lindelow, Noah Lindelow, Adam T. Wetch, and Blake Burbach; many great-nieces and great-nephews; plus her dogs, Marley and Jackson and her cat Kitty, who dearly miss her. She will be sorely missed as well by her numerous friends, especially her lifelong friend, Allison Nana Schlauch. She was preceded in death by her Aunt, Hazel Elizabeth "Bette" Bohnet, and by her great-niece, Trinity Hemphill.
