Olga Klein

Olga A. Klein, 91, Bismarck, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully February 16, 2011, at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, at First Evangelical Free Church, corner of Washington Street and 43rd Avenue, Bismarck, with the Rev. Terry Kern officiating. Interment will take place at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Olga was born October 18, 1919, the daughter of John and Carolina Gellner Brose. She attended grade school in Arena and graduated from Wing High School. She married Theodore Ted Klein on March 19, 1939. Ted and Olga farmed near Menoken after their marriage and in 1942 purchased a farm northeast of Wing where they farmed and ranched until his retirement. In 1955 she and Ted moved to Wing, and consolidated their farming operation to grain production only. In 1994 they moved to Bismarck where she resided at the time of her death. Olga enjoyed life. She accompanied Ted on many great fishing trips to Canada. She was devoted to her family and husband of 71 years. Throughout her life she demonstrated her God given gift of "hospitality" – serving many great home cooked meals to guests. She was very active in her church, homemakers, was a 4H leader and fund raiser for the Cancer Society. She loved meeting and visiting with old and new friends alike. She knew she was greatly blessed by the Lord her God. Olga is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Bruce Peterson, Munising, MI; one son, Alan Ginger Klein, Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren, David Tracy Peterson, Lynn Haven, FL; Paul Crystal Peterson, Spokane, WA; Kelly Matt Lundberg, Grand Rapids, MI; Joel Suzanne Peterson, Louisville, KY; nine great-grandchildren, Megan, Jordan, and Alyssa Peterson; Will, Mia, and Sawyer Peterson; Joshua, Jonathan and Julianna Lundberg. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and eleven brothers and sisters, Margaret Hinkel, Eva Fuhrman, Adolph, William, Otillia Kruger, Otto, George, Rheinhart, Gustuf, Jacob and Franz. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be given to Wing Public School Library Fund, P.O. Box 130, Wing, ND 58494.
