Otillia "Tillie" Seiler

Otillia M. Seiler, 88, Bismarck, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2007, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center after a short stay. She resided at the Waterford on Century in Bismarck this past year. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Church of St. Anne in Bismarck with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:30 - 9:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck where a rosary and prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Otillia "Tillie" Seiler was born on October 14, 1919, in Wishek, ND, the daughter of John and Anna Krein Staebler. She was raised and educated in rural schools in Wishek. Tillie was a seamstress in the Wishek area and later also worked for her uncle, Adolph Boschee, who was the County Commissioner. She married Joseph Seiler of Zeeland, ND, on October 14, 1941, and they were married for 61 years. They farmed in Zeeland until moving to Bismarck in 1948. Tillie worked at Conlin's Furniture in the drapery department sewing custom-made draperies for several years. She then became a homemaker to her seven children. She loved baking, cooking, gardening, and music. She was so proud of her family and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at family gatherings. She will be greatly missed by all. Tillie is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Jeri and Larry Kary of Scottsdale, AZ, Josie and Ron Atkins of Fountain Hills, AZ, Delores and Dave Hummel of Bismarck, ND, Delphine and Dave McLean of San Jose, CA, and Claudia and Bill Brau of Edina, MN; one son, David Seiler of Washburn, ND; eleven grandchildren, Kim Kary Molesworth, Debbie Kary, Jodi Hieb Bourdo, Rick Hieb, Chad Hummel, Scott and Tara Hummel, Andrea McLean, Erica Brau Lynch, Natalie Brau, and Caleb and Seth Seiler; three sisters, Vivian David Ebel of Bismarck, Annetta Phil Reich of Billings, MT, and Shirley Yerger, of Billings, MT; two brothers, Ray Staebler and Duane Staebler, both of Billings, MT; five sisters-in-law, Elsie Seiler, Evelyn Wald, and Minnie Klein, all of Bismarck, Marion Staebler of Billings, MT, and Elizabeth Gnoinsky of Auburn, WA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; one son, Timothy; three sisters, Eleanor Weisser, Amanda Fuchs, and Edna Lee Propsom; and one brother, Solomon Staebler.
