Pastor Roger L Will

Pastor Roger L. Will, 65, was greeted by His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Evangel Assembly of God, with the Revs. Doug Graham, Leon Freitag, and Joel Vesanen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm Tuesday, May 20, at Evangel Assembly of God, Bismarck, where a prayer service/time of sharing will begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Pastor Roger was born in Dickinson, ND, on July 8, 1948, to Rueben and Marvel Johnson Will. He attended High school in Dickinson and then graduated from Dickinson State University. While at Dickinson State he met and married Edith Krein. They were united in marriage on March 2, 1968. After graduation he attended Bethel Seminary in St. Paul MN, where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity. They were blessed with three children: Darcie, Cory, and Darin. After Seminary, the family moved to Torrance, California, where Roger worked as a youth pastor at an inner city church. In the spring of 1975 they moved to Bismarck, ND, and Roger worked for his brother-in-law, Cordell Oxentenko. In 1986 Roger and Edie started Will Painting. They worked together as a family business for 12 years. In 1997 he made a career change and accepted a position as the Business Manager and Associate Pastor at Evangel Temple in Bismarck. Roger and Edie have been involved at Evangel Assembly of God for 37 years, the last 17 of which Roger was a pastor. Roger enjoyed riding motorcycle, hunting, 4-wheeling, gardening, and playing with his grandkids. He was always available to help anyone in need and made it his life's passion to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Edie, Bismarck; his children, Darcie Tom Leeseberg, Hillsboro, ND, Cory Will, Springfield, MO, Darin Bobbie Will, Bismarck; his grandchildren, Brandon and Savannah Will, Jora Leeseberg, Brooke and Josiah Will; one brother, Vernon Will, Huntington Beach, CA; four sisters, Phyllis Oxentenko, Bismarck, ND, Ruth Joel Vesanen, Tulsa, OK, Faye Tracy Hindman, Benbrook, TX, and Lori Robin Weisz, Hurdsfield, ND, many nieces and nephews, friends, and his co-workers from Evangel who he considered part of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Marvel Will; brothers-in-law, Cordell Oxentenko, Perry Krein, William Donovan, and Rodney Mueller; step-father, Harvey Burwick; and many other relatives.
