Raymond Doll

Raymond George Doll, 60, Bismarck, passed away December 27, 2006, at St. Alexius Hospital after a short illness due to complications with leukemia. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Eberle officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. Ray was born on December 19, 1946, in Bismarck, to Anton and Katherina Weixel Doll. He attended Cathedral Elementary and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, Ray joined the Marines and spent 13 months in Vietnam. He served in the US Marines from September 1965 until February 1970. Ray married Nancy Monroe Herzing on April 7, 1978. Ray worked construction for many years until he began driving truck. He was currently employed by Circle G Express and will deeply miss Bill Gereszek and his sons. Ray was currently active in the Vietnam Veterans of America and was a participant of the Honor Guard. Ray was very patriotic and proud of his service to his country. Ray had a passion for family and you could find him on Christmas Day cooking dinner for everyone. He was an avid gardener and loved his daily walks with his dog, Midnite. He enjoyed camping and looked forward to retiring where he and his faithful companion, Midnite, were going to travel. Midnite was wherever Ray was and would even go to work with Ray. Ray and Midnite were inseperable and he will miss his loyal friend. Ray will be deeply missed by his family, his wife, Nancy Doll; his daughters, Kelly and Shelley Herzing; his little guy, Midnite; his parents, Anton and Katherina Doll; his brothers and sisters, Tom Jeanette Doll, Jim Doll, Patricia Emineth, Daniel Doll, and Mary Tony Danzl, all of Bismarck, ND; his godson and nephew, Christopher Danzl; his nieces and nephews, Michelle and Andrew Doll, Bill and Bernie Hayek, Missy Doll, Tim Doll, Tammy Bradford, Richard Kari Emineth, Daryl Emineth, Rita Doll, and Andrew and Joshua Danzl; his mother-in-law, Ina Monroe; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wes and Joyce Schafer and their children, Michael Michelle, Joseph and Thomas Schafer, and Jennifer Scott Aus; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Ray was preceded in death by one brother, Anton Jr.; his grandparents; and numerous relatives.
