Robert" Bob" Morrison, 85, passed away April 29, 2012, at his home in Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 4, at First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with Pastor Cathy Bliss officiating. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Bob was born March 3, 1927, at Neche, ND, to Clarence and Pearl Dyer Morrison. He graduated from Bathgate High School and then served in the US Army as a sergeant with the military government in Korea during 1947 and 1948. After returning from Korea, he enrolled in college at NDSU. In July of 1948 he married his high school sweetheart and bride of 64 years, Geraldine Geri Park in Bathgate, ND. They moved to student housing in Fargo while he finished college. After graduating with a degree in mechanized agriculture, he worked as a Work Unit Conservationist in Adams County. In 1952, Bob decided to embark on his next challenge. He and a college friend, Manley Hillesland, started a homebuilding and construction business called M & H Construction. They were instrumental in starting the Homebuilders Association of Bismarck. He served as president of that association several times. Later, Bob continued in home building and construction while also opening Main Realty as a broker. During this time, he helped to get legislation to form a North Dakota Association of Realtors. He held ND broker license #9 until retiring. He was involved as a partner/ owner in developing several additions to the city of Bismarck. After selling Main Realty, he opened Morrison Realty which later became Century 21 Morrison Realty. In 1984, Bob attempted retirement. He and Geri toured the southwest in their motorhome. They settled in the Scottsdale-Mesa-Tucson area for the winter months so Bob could enjoy his favorite hobby of playing golf year round. Retirement was too boring, so they returned to Bismarck and he became a broker-partner in Logan Hill Realty. He successfully retired in 1987 and kept busy by spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom were very special to him. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of the Bismarck Elks Lodge and Shriners. He is survived by his wife Geri; one daughter Faye Dane Eider; four grandchildren, Greg Stacy Eider, Brent Krysten Eider, Danelle Matt Moch, and Kayla Morrison; 1 daughter-in-law Jayne Morrison; and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Duane Morrison; sister May Glen Gunderson; sister-in-law, Adeline Morrison; and two step-sisters, Adeline Best and Lois Beeler. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Morrison; his mother, father, and step-mother, Annie; and three brothers, Russell, Dale and Alwin Morrison.
