Ronald Hoge

With his family at his side, Ronald "Ronnie" Hoge, 64, Bismarck, died June 18, 2004 at his home from injuries of a farm accident that occurred on May 15, 2004. Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jake Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and 9:00 AM until noon on Wednesday. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Ronald "Ronnie" Hoge was born to Ira and Orpha French Hoge on October 22, 1939 in Bismarck. He attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1957 where he was a member of F.F.A. Ronnie married Mary Jo Fritza on August 23, 1963 in Bismarck. They farmed seven miles northeast of Bismarck where he also assisted with his sons' construction business. He received the outstanding young farmers award from the Bismarck Jaycees. Ronnie served on the Naughton Township Board and the Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Moose Lodge, and was presently a member of the Eagles Club. Ronnie loved to drive trucks and work with the construction equipment. Ronnie had a great sense of humor. Never one to give a straight answer; he had to have a joke go along with everything he said. His big smile was matched only by his big open heart. He was proud of his kids and grandkids and always wanted to be helping them. Ronnie was a fun loving man who loved life and enjoyed doing things for his kids. Ronnie will be deeply missed and always remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo of Bismarck; his sons, Tim Hoge and Irene of Bismarck, Tony and Anita Hoge of Mandan, and Todd Hoge of Bismarck; his daughter, Tammy Hoge-Scheidt and Wade Scheidt of Bismarck; his mother, Orpha Hoge; three grandsons, Jesse, Bodine, and Bleau; two step-grandchildren, Justine and Miranda Scheidt; one sister, Darlene Frank Koehler of Lincoln, CA; two nephews, Keith Sandy Koehler of St. Michael, MN; and Brian Linda Koehler and one niece, Karen Steve Schields all of Lincoln, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Hoge, and his grandparents, Leslie and Erna French and August and Augusta Hoge.
