Rosemary Andahl

Rosemary Andahl, 89, Bismarck, ND, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at St. Alexius Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, April 27, at the First Lutheran Church, 800 N. 7th Street, Bismarck, with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Rosemary was born on March 30, 1922, to Paul and Agnes Murray Schonert. She attended school in rural Burleigh County. On March 9, 1941, she married Roy Andahl of Bismarck and they moved onto the Andahl homestead north of Bismarck and resided there until fall of 2010 when she moved into Bismarck. Rosemary enjoyed all of the farm activities and her home was open to everyone. Rosemary will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a substitute grandmother to all the neighbor kids, participating in several school Grandparent Days. Rosemary was a member of First Lutheran Church in Bismarck. She was a lifetime member of the Burleigh County Pioneers Association, served on the election board for many years in Burleigh County, was active as a 4-H leader, and was a member of the Church Guild. She is survived by her son, Paul Deb Andahl and their son Ryan of Bismarck; her daughter, Linnea Ehli and her children, Marcy Mike Running of Mandan, and their son Mike Jr. of Eagan, MN, Brett Ehli of Bismarck, and Lori Ehli Scott Blocker and her children, Ashley and Jordan, all of Bismarck; her daughter, Denise Rick Haider Andahl of Mandan and her son Jeff Andahl of Bismarck; her sisters-in-law, Lila Little, Aldyth Doering, Beverly Schonert Doll and Leona Schonert; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; her brothers, Joseph, Robert, and Roy Kayo Schonert; her sister, Grace Andahl and brother-in-law, Helmer Andahl; her sister-in-law, Lucille Schonert; and her great-granddaughter, Hailey Ehli Blocker. To honor Rosemary's memory, donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice or the First Lutheran Church.
