Scott Christiansen

Scott Christiansen, 25, Baldwin, died August 7, 2009, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Kermit Culver officiating. Burial will be held in Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 9:00 pm Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Scott Lowell Christiansen was born in Bismarck on August 2, 1984. Scotty arrived 2 weeks early, going full speed ahead and never slowed down. Scott’s energy and enthusiasm were revealed in the way he lived his life, which was usually wide open and caution thrown to the wind. Scott caught his first walleye while he was still in diapers, which that started a life-long passion for fishing that was passed on by his Dad. At a very young age, Scott started attending North Dakota Game & Fish Camps and was frequently more qualified to teach these classes then the instructors. Scott read just about every fishing article ever written and had the uncanny ability to remember everything he read. All you had to do was ask and he would gladly start reciting alleged walleye facts... Another one of Scott’s passions was hunting, originally with his Dad, and later on with his dog "Wesley Clarence" and his brother Mike, Uncle Lyle, and/or anyone else he could bribe or cajole into taking him before he could drive. Basically, if it flew, walked, or crawled, and there was a season on it, Scott hunted it. He brought home many self- proclaimed "trophies" and usually had them spread out on the lawn and/or all over the kitchen counter, much to his mother’s chagrin. And, whenever Mom gave him free reign in the kitchen, his trophy’s ended up in a frying pan doused in mushroom soup, shore lunch or some other special Scotty concoction. Scott attended grade school at Riverside School and Northridge School and junior high at Wachter Middle School. Scott attended Bismarck High School and excelled in football, wrestling and track. As a senior, Scott was a member of the 2002 football team that took the State Class A championship and he also placed 5th in State in the heavy weight division while wrestling as a senior. Most recently Scott enjoyed farm life with Auntie Pat and Uncle Ronny, and was living on the Christiansen family farm near Baldwin. Currently Scott was working for the Steinert Family Farm and pursing a degree in agronomy. Additionally, Scott was an avid race fan and pitman for one of his true friends Marlin Seidler. Scott is survived by his mother, Corinne Aberle; his brother, Mike Christiansen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Christiansen; his grandfather, Lowell Christiansen; his grandmothers, Lourene Christiansen and Carol Wrangham; his cousin, Ty Andahl and his godson, Colt Modin. Words cannot adequately describe all the things Scott so uniquely brought into everyone’s life. His presence, personality, laugh and mischievous grin will be dearly missed and always close to our hearts. It’s good to know he’s now in heaven fishing and hunting with his Dad and his dog, and under the watchful eyes of Grandmothers Carol and Lourene.
