Terry Duane Pudwill

Terry Duane Pudwill, 61, passed away at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown, ND, the morning of July 13, due to natural causes. Services will be held on Thursday July 18, at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Mandan, with Rev. Lee Herberg officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, from 5-8pm, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, and will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at First Lutheran Church, Mandan. Terry was born on December 5, 1951, to Buckley and Esther Pudwill, in Mobridge, SD. Terry attended grade school in McIntosh, SD. He graduated from McLaughlin High school, McLaughlin, SD in l970. After high school, Terry moved to Lead, SD where he worked for the Homestake Gold Mine. Terry married Melinda Dietrich in McLaughlin, SD, on July 10, 1971. Together they raised two sons Tocker and Shelby. After moving back to McLaughlin, SD, Terry attended DCI Dept. of Criminal Investigations in Pierre, SD and worked for the City of McLaughlin, SD, as a police officer. He eventually moved to Mandan, ND, where he worked as a Resident Counselor for the ND State Industrial School, for a number of years. He also worked in sales for several years Bill Barth, Sears & Lowes. A humble and hardworking man, Terry had a passion for the sport of boxing. A boxer for many years, Terry won numerous Amateur Boxing Championships in ND, SD, and the Upper Midwest, before making a move to the professional ranks. Passing his passion down to his sons, Terry became a great mentor and coach in boxing and in life to his boys for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Trike, watching his boys box and play softball, along with spending time with family and friends. A man of few words, Terry often showed love in his generous actions. Terry was adored by many and will forever be missed. He is survived by his son Tocker Melanie Pudwill, Kaylee Harm, Rylie Pudwill, Jayda Pudwill, Bismarck and son Shelby Pudwill, of Bismarck; brothers Jack Annette Pudwill, Minn, Mark Pudwill, Minn, Buckley Jr Duanna Pudwill, Bismarck; sisters Marsha Kraft-Mandan and Deborah Lee Schiermeister, Bismarck. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Thomas.
