Theresa Berg

Theresa Berg, 87, Minot, formerly of Bismarck, died March 2, 2010, at a Minot Care Center. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am Friday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck, Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Theresa was born October 9, 1922, in Linton, ND, the daughter of Anton and Marina Wolf. She received her high school diploma in 1939. On April 12, 1955, she married William Berg, and they made their home in Bismarck most of their lives. Theresa worked several jobs as a housekeeper, retiring from the Baptist Home. Theresa moved to Henry Towers in Minot to be closer to her son after her husband passed away on January 19, 2005. She became a resident at Trinity Nursing Home on February 19, 2010. Theresa and Bill finally had their wish of parenthood come true in 1959, when they became mom and dad to Richard James, when he was 1 year and two weeks old. He meant the world to them and they had a mutual relationship of caring and love that extended throughout their lives. They had equal feelings for their daughter-in-law, Karen and were especially proud and devoted to their grandson, Tyler. Through the “magic” of internet and Skype, Theresa was able to see and talk with Tyler, his wife, Salina and the joy of Theresa’s life, her great-granddaughter, Maleah. Theresa is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen, Minot; her grandson and his family, Tyler, Salina and Maleah Berg, Overland Park, KS; her sisters, Maggie Sebastin Masseth, Clara Gene Buchholtz, Agnes Silbernagel, Betty John Brady, Joann Frank Flink; her sisters-in-law, Jackie Berg and Ardis Funston; her brothers-in-law, Clarence Garnet Berg and Edwin Linda Berg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; one sister and two brothers. Memorials may be given to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
