Veth Santos

Veth Santos, 67, Spokane, WA, died peacefully on November 17, 2009, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 9:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Veth was born on May 18, 1942, in Panpanga, Philippines the daughter of Epifanio and Marciana Zablan Samson. She was raised and attended school in Manila, Philippines. She attended Philippines Normal College and graduated with an associate degree in education. She married Igmidio Santos, M.D. on June 4, 1966, in San Juan, Rizal, Philippines. They moved to the United States on August 28, 1968. Veth and her family moved to Jamestown, ND, in May 1979 and then made their home in Bismarck in 1987. They then moved to Spokane, WA, in 2001 where they have since resided. Veth loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to numerous countries with her husband and shopping with her sisters and daughters, but most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family. She was a very creative lady who enjoyed making a variety of crafts. Veth is survived by her husband, Igmidio Santos, M.D. of Spokane; one son, Steven Echo of Fall Creek, WI; three daughters, Rachel John Holmen of Bismarck, Michelle Karl Lembke of Bismarck, and Cynthia Kevin Jansen of Maple Grove, MN; her grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Nathan, Zachary, Gabriella, Sophia, Anya, Nicholas, Kaia, Riley, Evan, and Kyler; three brothers, John Joy Samson of Jamestown, ND, Fortunato Millie Samson of Palmdale, CA, and Eduardo Samson of Lake Elsinore, CA; three sisters, Felisa Ronnie Valdepenas of La Habra, CA, Lucia Paulito Hermosa of San Juan, Philippines, and Carmen Manny Lazaro of Lake Elsinore, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
