Violet Dockter

Violet Virginia Pfeifle Dockter, 75, Bismarck, died October 12, 2007, at St. Alexius Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Wes Aardahl officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Vi was born on February 9, 1932, in Ashley, ND, to Gottlieb and Emelia Golz Pfeifle and baptized March 25, 1932, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ashley. Vi attended country school in McIntosh County and joined the workforce at a young age. She proudly earned her GED in 1974. She married Gus Dockter on November 11, 1951, in Ashley. Gus and Vi moved to Bismarck in 1958. Vi was an excellent seamstress and worked in several local clothing stores including, Lucas, Opgrands and Daytons and owned and operated the Alex Ruth Shop for many years. She was very active at Faith Lutheran Church; teaching Sunday School and Confirmation Classes and was active on several committees including Stewardship and the Endowment Fund. She was also one of the founding members of Altar Guild. Vi was also an excellent cook. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will especially miss her homemade buns and banana bread. Holiday dinners always included many items she "made with love." Vi is survived by her husband, Gus of Bismarck, ND; her daughters, Peggy Dave Brintnell and Nancy Bob Lussenden, all of Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Jessica Scott Harms of Yipsilanti, ND, Matthew Amber Brintnell of Bismarck, ND, Carrie Cole Bentley of Bismarck, ND, Jonathan Lussenden of Beulah, ND, Christina Lussenden of Jamestown, ND, and Andrea Brintnell of Bismarck, ND; four great-grandchildren, Daisie and Jazmyn Brintnell and Edison and August Harms; her brother, Norman Janet Pfeifle of Paw Paw, MI; her sisters, Nehemiah Ray Schumacher of Ashley, ND, Erna Roger Klipfel of Ashley, ND, LuElla Jones of Aberdeen, SD, and JoAnn Lester Schlepp of Yakima, WA; her sisters-in-law, Eva Dockter of Bismarck, ND, Elsa Imhoff of Montrose, CO, and Atlanda Dockter of Ashley, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Vi was preceded in death by her son, David Dockter; her parents; and her brothers, Leroy and Adam.
