Walter Davidson

Walter M. Davidson, 88, Bismarck, died February 13, 2005 at a Bismarck hospital from a massive stroke. Services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday at the Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Walter was born February 13, 1917 to Conrad and Johanna Edwardson Davidson on the farm in Argonne Township that he loved so much. He joined the CCC in 1936 working for them for eight months and again in 1938 for another six months. He lived and worked farming for over 60 years-a profession that he loved and cherished. He was a man of high standards and values and had a wonderful contagious smile and laughter. Walter married Else Johnsen in 1950. They shared the love of farming and worked together side-by-side building the family farm. They had two daughters, Kay and Diane. He loved his grandchildren and always impressed on them the value of hard work and savings and not to use credit cards. In 1994 Walter married Lorraine Shea. Together they shared the joy of friends and playing cards. He loved to dance, play cards, travel, garage sales and spending time with friends. In the summer he loved to stay on the farm and always had a huge garden, which he loved to work in. He was a proud member of the Sons of Norway. Walter is survived by his daughters, Kay J. Davidson and her fiancÚ Larry Hanson of Billings, MT and Diane Steve Duchscher of Dickinson; his six grandchildren, Brent Beneke and his fiance Cindy of Seattle, WA and Bryan Tracee Beneke of Austin, TX, Nicholas Duchscher of Bismarck, Gregory Duchscher of Reno, NV, Michael and Stephanie Duchscher of Dickinson; his wife Lorraine and her children, Paul Shea of Bismarck, Shiela Marly McDonald of Fargo, Mark Mona Shea of Orlando, FL, Sharon Shea of Bismarck and Douglas Shea of Hazelton; his sisters, Signe Antos of Bemidji, MN, Marion Joe Wagendorf, Hettinger, ND, Dorothy Fred Byerly of Lakewood, WA and Phyllis Reinke of Kingman, AZ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Else, his parents, and four brothers and two sisters. The family prefers memorials to the American Heart Association.
