Wesley Eisenbeis

Wesley Eisenbeis, 87, of Bismarck, ND, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Waterford/Touchmark where he had been a resident since November 1, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, at 11:00 AM at McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck with Rev. Ray Baker and Rev. Walter Schott officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 2:30 PM at Friedens Cemetery northwest of Streeter, ND. Visitation will be Friday, January 27, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Wesley was born January 26, 1924, in rural Streeter, ND the 5th child of nine to Adolph and Mary Schwarzwalter Eisenbeis. He grew up on the family farm, graduated from Streeter High School in 1942, and attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. He taught rural school for one year and then operated the family farm where he remained until his retirement to Bismarck, ND, in 1997. Wesley and Annie Becker were married on December 26, 1949 in Streeter, ND. He was a member of Streeter Ebenezer United Methodist Church and at the time of his death, was a member of McCabe United Methodist Church. He was active in many organizations including the Salt Lake Saddle Club, Badlands Trailriders, and served on Church, ASCS, township and school boards. As a member of the Victory Singers, Wes shared his love of Jesus through music to many. Wesley is survived by his four daughters, Melinda Tom Freier, Mary Baumann, Joanie Rau, and Laurie Eisenbeis Jeff Bowers; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Toby, Arika, Tyrel, David, Chelsey, Amy, Jeffery, and Katelyn; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Schaffner, Amy Darrel Moser, and Leona Jim Nenow; one brother, Bob; two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Arlene Eisenbeis; one brother-in-law, Art Berg; and his extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wesley's family would like to say a special thank-you to parish nurse, Jane Morgan, and all of his caregivers at Medcenter One, Touchmark, and Hospice, they became like family to all of us. He so enjoyed his friends and especially "the Hardees Gang". He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reinhold and Harry; and two sisters, Martha Taylor and Hulda Berg. "Victory in Jesus" was Wesley's favorite song and words he held close to his heart. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
