William Dilger

William S. Dilger, 91, Bismarck, died August 20, 2010, at Medcenter One Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Nick Schneider officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will start at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. William was born December 11, 1918, at Richardton, ND, the son of Adam and Margaret Jonas Dilger. He grew up and attended school in Center, ND. William married Magdalena Keller on June 30, 1941. During WWII he served in the Army medical dept. in the South Pacific. Following his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned to Bismarck. He worked for 35 years for John W. Larson Construction, starting out as a laborer and working his way up to foreman. After retiring, he volunteered at Medcenter One for 20 plus years until the day of his accident. William enjoyed fishing and playing cards and loved the time spent with family, especially the grandchildren. William is survived by his children, Jeanie Tom Jundt, Bismarck, Judy A. Joe Johs, Bismarck, Bill “Sonny” Pat, Fort Collins, CO, Roger Joann, Bismarck, Jeff Penny, Wilton, and Loren, Bismarck; his grandchildren, Jherrii Dilger, Marshall Dilger, Keri Dilger, Erika Dilger and Craig Engstrom, Kristi Dilger, Stephanie Dilger, Steven and Andrea Dilger, Lisa Dilger-Emslie, Mary and Martin Schmidt, Dean Johs, Paula and Rich Condol, David Johs, Gwendolyn Haux, Brenda and Leroy Gross, Stacey and Charles Kills Pretty Enemy, Karla and Mike Sheets, Daryl and Robin Jundt, and Wayne and Laura Jundt; great grandchildren, Alyssa Dilger, Megan Dilger, Will Emslie, Isaac Schmidt, Jolee Condol, Will Condol, Amanda Haux, Jessica and Jared Hansen, Sara and Alex Brown, Tomi Jo and Jon Kassian, Robert Brendel and Kayla Frisbee, Zac Brendel, Brandon Jundt, Tyler Jundt, Nathan Sheets, Kaylin Sheets, Keanu Jundt, Kambrea Jundt, Brooke Jundt, and Bailee Jundt; and great-great grandchildren, Brody Hansen, Chalen Jundt, Nevaeh Yeager, Keisha Erhardt, Kati Jo Jundt, Lee Erhardt, ValleriAnn Erhardt, and Jericka Brendel; his brothers, Steven and Adam Dilger, Fargo, Tom Dilger, Sterling Heights, MI, and Pius Martha, Lawndale, CA; and his sister, Lorraine Bayer, Hazen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Magdalena; his parents; his brothers, Joe, Alex, John and Christian; and his sisters, Cecelia, Mary, and Hildegarde.
