Donald Davison

Donald H. Davison, 74, died September 1, 2004 at his home. Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Friday at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 W. Turnpike, Ave., Bismarck. Don was born in Lawton, ND on June 25, 1930, the son of Roy and Inga Bolstad Davison. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1948 and from North Dakota Agriculture College in 1952 with a degree in Agriculture Education. He received his Masters in Banking from the School of Banking in Colorado. Don married Zella I. Longnecker on September 16, 1951 in New Rockford, ND. Don taught Vo-Ag in Washburn, ND from 1952 to 1961. He traveled for Peavey Company for five years before moving to Minot in 1966 to work for First National Bank, where he remained until 1978. In 1978, he moved to Watertown, SD to become Vice-President of Norwest Bank and in 1982 he moved to Lewistown, MT, where he was President of Norwest Bank until retiring in 1987. He and Zella made their retirement home in Bismarck. In July 1994, Don was fortunate to be chosen as a banking specialist with the Ministry of Agriculture and traveled to Russia for three weeks. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and all around outdoorsman. His greatest love was his family. His second love was conversation with whomever would listen. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Don is survived by his wife, Zella, Bismarck, ND; his three sons, Gary Carol Davison, Bismarck, ND, Craig Davison, Minot, ND and Donald L. Vicky Davison, Minot, ND; his daughter, Karen Larry Toft, Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Davison, Bismarck, ND, Jody Preston Sherman, Bismarck, ND, Amy Ralf Glowna of Rogers, MN, Lindy Davison, Bismarck, ND, Cory Davison, Fargo, ND, Stacy Davison, Minot, ND, Laura Davison, Grand Forks, ND, Melanie Jeremy Rensch, Port Orchard, WA, Chad Toft, Sioux Falls, SD, and Cami Greg Thompson, Bruce, SD; 7 great grandchildren, including two very precious great grandchildren who meant so much to him, Brooklyn and Gavyn Sherman, Bismarck, ND; his brother, Richard Marilyn Davison, Bismarck, ND; his sister, Judith Tom Jenkins, Moorhead, MN; his aunt, Ann Clemenson, Devils Lake, ND; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends whom he kept in contact with over the years. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
