Stanley Weisenburger

Stanley G. Weisenburger, 64, formerly of Tuttle, ND, died August 25, 2003 in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Chapel with the Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites by VFW Post 1326. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. Stanley Gene Weisenburger was born August 12, 1939, at Tuttle, ND, to John and Lydia Christina Oschner Weisenburger. He was raised and educated at Tuttle. Stanley married Julie Ann Shafer at Tuttle on September 24, 1967. He served in the U.S, Army from September of 1963, until his honorable discharge in September of 1965. Back home, Stanley operated Stan's Blacksmith Shop and drove school bus until he went to work with North American Coal at the Falkirk Mine. He was employed at Falkirk from March of 1978 until September 12, 1991. It was on the following day, that Stanley was stricken with a brain stem aneurysm, which created damage to his brain and disabled the rest of his body. Heartbroken, his family lovingly provided him appropriate care by admitting him to Prairieview Nursing Home and later to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. The family wishes to extend their thank you to the center's staff for their gentle and gracious treatment during this long twelve years of his life. When he was healthy, Stanley loved to hunt and ice fish. His yard and garden flourished due to his devotion and attention to detail. Every row of his garden lined up, and often his yard was named "yard of the week" in Underwood. He was a skilled small engine repairman. Everything he touched, he could make workable. This ambitious man was a man of so very many talents. His extremely inventive mind was to be admired, and he busied himself constantly, everything done to perfection. He was a jokester, and people loved to be around him. Stanley was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and good friends. He is survived by his wife, Julie; his two sons, Aaron and Theron and his companion Stacey; his grandson Damian; his mother-in-law, Elva Shafer, all of Bismarck; his eight brothers and six sisters-in-law, Wilbert and Debbie, Maynard and Maxine, Donnie and Eunice, and Gary, all of Tuttle; Glendale and Betty, Arley and Sylvia, all of Missoula, MT, Garold, and Leon and Bobby, all of Underwood, ND; his four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Racheal Wolff of Arena, ND, Gladys Clapham of Missoula, Mildred and Vernon Rask of Randle, WA, Janice and Allen Anderson of Bismarck, and Alvin Gruebele of Missoula; and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Gruebele, his father-in-law, Kenneth Shafer, his sister-in-law, Vivian Weisenburger, his brother-in-law, Julius Wolff, and his nephews Kirby Gruebele and Doran Wolff.
