Albert Kudrna

Albert F. Kudrna, 76, Bismarck, was called home by our Heavenly Father on October 6, 2007. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military honors provided by VFW Post #1326. Visitation will held on Tuesday, October 9, at Parkway Funeral home from 3 PM - 7 PM with vigil and rosary to follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service. Albert F. Kudrna was born on December 3, 1930, in New Hradec, ND, to Anton and Anna Simek Kudrna. He attended school in New Hradec. He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Al married the love of his life, Lorraine Wandler, on June 22, 1959. Al and Lorraine lived in Dickinson for 18 years. In 1977, they moved to Bismarck. He worked for Cloverdale Foods in Mandan for over 20 years and retired in 1996. During this time, he volunteered his time at the Mandan Eagles Club. Al wasn't ready for retirement and went to work for the Bismarck Tribune in 1996. He continued to work there until his unexpected passing. Al cared for his wife during the many years she battled cancer until her passing on February 4, 2007. Al enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, horseshoes, bowling, watching football and baseball, and most recently riding four-wheeler with his grandchildren, Markelle, Kylie, and Justin. His grandchildren will remember and forever treasure their fun times spent fishing. Al was very close to his family. His greatest pride and joy besides his wife and children, were his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his rosy cheeks, love, smiles, and laughter. Grateful for having shared his life are his children, two daughters and sons-in- law, Lynn and Tim Njos of Ruso, ND, and Wanda and Greg Story of Bismarck, ND; his son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon and Donna Kudrna of Bismarck, ND; and his three grandchildren, Markelle and Kylie Kudrna, and Justin Story. Al was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine; his two sisters, Mildred Kostelecky and Dorothy Kostelecky; and his one brother, Edwin Kudrna. The Kudrna family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Field and the staff at MedCenter One 2SE for their kindness and compassion provided to our beloved Father and Grandfather.
