Carl J Weichel

Carl J. Weichel, 89, Bismarck, died March 19, 2011, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am Friday, March 25, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm ï¿½ 7:00 pm Thursday, March 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at t he church. Carl Joseph was born June 5, 1921, in Linton, ND, the son of Joseph and Barbara Schwab Weichel. He attended Emmons County schools. Carl taught school in both Strasburg and Hague. He married Helen Schumacher on November 16, 1948, at St.Philips Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, and moved to Bismarck on December 8, 1956. Carl worked for McQuade Distributing for 29 years until his retirement in 1986. Carl loved painting, playing cards, carpentry and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Helen, Bismarck; his 11 children, Gwen Mike Brady, Mandan, Charles friend, Sally Wolf, Bismarck, Mike, CA, Dennis "Butch" Josie, Bismarck, Gordon, Bismarck, Glenda, Bismarck, Robert Lola, Bismarck, Mark Marlys, Bismarck, Byron, Sault Ste Marie, MI, Richard Melanie, Syracuse, UT, and Marlin "Goob" Barbara, England, Europe; his grandchildren, Keith Margaret, Lee, Jay, Justin, Corey, Stacey, Dion, Sheila Corey, Chance, Colby, David, Amanda Brendan, Nick, Ashley, Tyler, Jordan, Brittany, Brent, Brady, Brendan, Dakota, Chelsea, Matthew, Trevor and Trent; his great-grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, Dillon, Alexis, and Amber; his sisters, Elizabeth Weichel, Bismarck, and Rose Schafer, Great Falls, MT; his brother, Tony Weichel, Bismarck; sisters-in-law, Rose Weichel, Strasburg, Irene Weichel, Bismarck, Angeline Weichel, Bismarck, and Joan Weichel, Prescott, AZ. Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence, Margaret, Joseph, Mike, Katie, his brothers-in-law, Jake Schafer and Rex Nicholas; and his parents, Joseph and Barbara Weichel. The family asks that you refrain from wearing any type of perfume or aftershave to the visitation or service due to severe allergies.
