Carle Erickson

Carle D. Erickson, 47, passed away April 5, 2010, at his home in Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bismarck with Pastor Al Shaner officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Carle was born on December 27, 1962, in Stanley, ND, the son of Wallace and Lorraine Erickson. Carle graduated from Stanley High School in 1982. He enjoyed playing football, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and trapping muskrats, and was involved in scouting. In 1985, he moved to Bismarck to be closer to his family. He worked as a handyman and maintenance worker including snow and lawn care. He worked at the St. Alexius Medical Center, the Bismarck Tribune, and McDonalds. Whatever he did, he set a standard for himself to be the hardest worker doing the best job possible without expecting applause. There was no one that he wouldn’t lend a hand to help and he was considered the family “angel”. In 2006, he was awarded Bismarck Tribune Carrier of the Month. In his spare time Carle loved bowling, working on his computer, gardening, and spending time at the lake with his family. His greatest joy and passion, however, was his son, Cody. He loved watching Cody play football, track, and basketball for Shiloh Christian School. More recently, he was proud to witness Cody play at the 2010 State Basketball Tournament. His connection and love for his son and family, as well as his love for the Lord, were evident in all he did. Carle is survived by his parents, Wallace and Lorraine Erickson, Bismarck; his son, Cody, Bismarck; his sister, Kathy Brad Miller, Bismarck; his brother, Brian Becky Erickson, Colorado; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Alma Erickson and David and Mabel Neether.
