Cecilia Tatley

Cecilia Tatley, 95, Bismarck, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 21, 2007. She has been reunited with her loving husband, Harry Tatley, and daughter, Mary Helen Tatley Hohner, along with her parents, and other family members. Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at Church of St. Anne with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM Monday and 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. A vigil and rosary service will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Cecilia was born in Valley City, ND, on June 21, 1912, to Kathryn and Frank Czeczok. She spent her childhood in Van Hook, ND, and then moved to Bismarck in her late teens where she met her husband, Harry Tatley. They married on April, 29, 1935, and established a home southeast of Bismarck where they ranched for 42 years. They retired from ranching in 1977 and moved into Bismarck. Cecilia was not only a loving wife and mother, but also a kind and gentle person toward everyone she met. She always had time for a cup of coffee and sweets when someone dropped by and she made room at the table whenever someone came by at meal time. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. As busy as she was with four daughters and much work on their farm, there was always time for her to volunteer at St. Mary's Annual Carnivals and bake sales at St. Anne's. Her church was a big part of her life and her love of nature was demonstrated in the flowers and gardens she loved and tended until recently. Cecilia is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Ray Stein of Devils Lake, ND, Marge and Ed Schulz of Hudson, WI, Donna and Michael Myers of San Jose, CA, and Ted Hohner of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorie Gayda of Minneapolis, MN, and Cyrilla DiStefano and Kathryn Carnino of Auburn, WA; and many nieces and nephews. The family prefers memorials be given to St. Anne's Church.
