Donald Williams

Donald Williams, 60, Dickinson, ND, formerly of Bismarck, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 26, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service and will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Don was born on February 23, 1951, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Rodney and Betty Prindle Williams. He was raised and attended school in Wing, ND. Don lived in the Tuttle area for a number of years where he worked for Rod Livingston farm. He then began his career as an over the road truck driver and worked for Consolidated Freight. This position transferred him to Spring Valley, IL, where he then married Louise Dockter on October 24, 1986. Then made their home there for 10 years and later moved to Vancouver, WA, for 10 1/2 years. A work related injury forced him into early retirement in 2002. In 2004, Don and Louise left Vancouver and returned to North Dakota to be closer to family. While in North Dakota, Don enjoyed helping his brother, Jerry, do the daily chores on his ranch, hauling bales, and swathing hay. He also helped many friends in Dickinson with dirt work and snow removal. Don was a member of Hog Association and Abate. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, hunting, tinkering in his garage, and was always there to lend a helping hand when someone needed assistance. He had a heart of gold! He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Those who shared in his life are his wife of twenty-four years, Louise of Dickinson, ND; his daughter, Dee of Bismarck; his step-daughter, Lauri Kelly Sorensen; his grandchildren, Autumn, Jacob, Trevor, Kerzy, and Kelby; his siblings, Ed and Mary Williams, Jerry and Dollyn Williams, Sharon and Jim Casson, Shirley and Charles Madche, and Susan and Dave Green; his special Friend, Dave Sabot; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
