Elizabeth Schell

Elizabeth Schuler Schell, 84, Bismarck, passed away with her family gathered around her, Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Medcenter One Care Center, Mandan. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at First United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Dennis Aleson and Rev. Walter Schott officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 PM Monday in the Baptist Cemetery, Washburn, ND. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday, at Eastgate Funeral Service where a prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Elizabeth was born October 2, 1919 in Bismarck to Fred and Eva Serr Job. She was raised and educated in the Linton area. She married Fred Schuler, Jr. on December 2, 1939. They farmed near Washburn and had six daughters. On February 17, 1955 Fred passed away and she and the girls moved to Bismarck that fall. Elizabeth married Christian E. Schell on July 19, 1957. Christ passed away June 14, 1984. Elizabeth loved her family most dearly and enjoyed every moment with them. She always had a warm hearted smile and a hug for the children in her life. Elizabeth had a special way of entertaining people on a moments notice; a freezer full of home-cooked food was ready and her home always smelled of wonderful baked goods. She was a hard working, caring, loving, and beautiful person who cherished every moment of her full life on earth. As the oldest of ten children, Elizabeth learned at an early age the value of hard work. Even though she faced and overcame many obstacles in life she approached hard times with a smile. She showed her children a love of music and the joy of being together and passed along treasures to her family you could not put a price on. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Darlene Dennis Danielson of Bismarck, Shirley Al Sailer of Bismarck, Judy Doug Plummer of Mandan, Betty Dave Hochhalter of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Diane Ray Vick of Cedar Rapids, IA; one stepdaughter, Phyllis Arlie Helm of McClusky, ND; one stepson, Dale Schell of Robinson, ND; 10 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Christine Wilbert Sayler and Ann E.J. "Butch" Dressler all of Bismarck and Ida Mae Tucker of Arizona; three brothers, Ted Elsie Job of Sun City, AZ, Curtis Grace Job of Rogers, MN, and Herman Sue Job of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one daughter, Nancy Lou, four brothers, Arnold, Art, Herb, and Freddie, and one step-granddaughter, Sandy. The family of Elizabeth would like to thank the staff at Medcenter One Care Center in Mandan for the companionship, care, kindness, and love they showed her during her stay.
