Emil A Hauck

Emil Hauck, 74, Bismarck, formerly of New Leipzig, passed away August 20, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm MDT, Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Leipzig. Burial will be at the Baptist Cemetery, New Leipzig. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, August 23, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Emil was the fourth child born to Edmund and Martha Zeller Hauck on June 2, 1938. He lived on the family farm north of Heil and attended school in the area. On March 14, 1960, Emil married the love of his life, Viola Fischer, and together with their three children made their home on a farm south of New Leipzig until 1989, when they moved to Dickinson. Emil welcomed everyone with a warm smile and a wonderful sense of humor, with an abundance of jokes, pranks and stories to share, he enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, playing horse shoes, hunting, trapping, motorcycling, and rodeos. Emil could tell you what you could expect for moisture from his onion calendar; he enjoyed canning the abundance from the garden, and loved to share his many baked goodies with all. Emil had many self-taught talents to pass the time including roofing, concrete work, leather working, rug making, playing piano, and played a mean harmonica, "Happy Birthday" and "The Old Gray Mare Ain't What It Used to Be" were favorite tunes. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards. Emil will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Viola; his children, Lucille Blucher, WA, Marilyn Leroy Peterson, Bismarck, and Roger Hauck, Bismarck. He also leaves his grandchildren, Heather Blucher and Taylor Peterson; his sister, Nyleen Fischer; his brother, John; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Emil also leaves many friends, including his second parents, Otto and Louise Schefflemaier. Emil was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darvin Zeller and Dennis Hauck; and his sister, Donna Faye Trehus. The work is done, the concrete poured, the music is quiet, the cooler is empty-we will miss your laugh. Rest in Peace Tootsie Roll Man.
