Helen V Kraft

Helen Virginia Kraft, 94, Bismarck, passed away on February 6, 2012, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Baptist Home Chapel, Bismarck. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, February 10, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Helen was born October 12, 1917, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Mark and Anne Maudsley Bailey. She attended grade school and high school in Iowa. In 1936 Helen married Harold Kraft. They lived in Milwaukee, WI, until 1946 when they moved to North Dakota. In 1956, they moved to California where Harold worked for the Forest Service. After Harold retired in 1975, they moved to Bismarck. Harold passed away in 1979. Helen's favorite pastimes included reading, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and serving coffee and cookies at the kitchen table to family and friends. Helen was very proud of her two sons, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen is survived by her sons, Delbert Amelia Kraft, San Ramon, CA, and James Kraft Shirley Gienger, Bismarck; her grandchildren, Mardell Tom Wegryn, Susan Kraft, Ron Sloane Kraft, Bob Kim Kraft, Marcie Jeff Wuitschick, Michelle Chris Bertsch, and Nicole Hoff Bruce Greig; her great-grandchildren, Klayton, Konnor, Clancy, Ellie, Michael, Bailey, Merritt, Ashley, Tommy, Michelle, Michael, Andrew, Matthew, Monica, Abby, Ashlyn, and Josh; and one great-great grandchild, Mica; her sisters-in-law, Ruthann Bailey and Betty Bailey; her brother-in-law, Bob Brahm; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family. Helen also leaves behind several lifelong friends in California, including the Wilmer and Bertha Frey family. Many years were spent together and these are memories that will be cherished by everyone. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her infant daughter, Carol Lynn; her parents; her five brothers; and her three sisters. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Baptist Home and St. Alexius Hospice for the care provided to Helen.
