Jason Lee Kerzman

Jason Lee Kerzman, 35, Bismarck, passed away October 8, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 13, at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Joel Samuelson officiating. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Jason was born January 31, 1979, in Minot, ND, to John and Gale Knutson Kerzman. He resided in Minot until 1988 when the family relocated to Bismarck. Jason attended school in Bismarck. In 1995, he chose to attend Quentin Burdick Job Corp where he received his GED and a certification in auto parts. Upon his completion, he returned to Bismarck and pursued a job at Hedahl's Auto Parts. Jason married the love of his life, Kristie Hanson, on June 14, 1997. They welcomed their son, Joshua, into the family that same year. Jason enjoyed many things in his life; however, his one true enjoyment was driving semis, a love he learned at a young age from his uncle. He drove for many companies hauling a wide variety of items over the years. Though he loved driving truck he hated being separated from his wife and son. He attempted a few times to completely give that life up with other careers. He worked as a correctional officer at the North Dakota State Penitentiary, the call of the road grew strong, and he had to drive again. He also worked as an Assistant Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts, until an opportunity arose to become as he called it, "A Fecal Relocation Specialist" when he took his most current job at Big Muddy Septic. Anyone who knew Jason knew he was great with a joke, he knew how to make you laugh and smile. These traits will be terribly missed. Jason is survived by his wife, Kristie; his son, Joshua; his mother, Gale Knutson, all of Bismarck; brother, Nate Nicole Korsmo, Northwood; sisters, Greta Rayce Loritz, and Kaitlin Mike Kurtz, all of Bismarck; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Greg Hanson, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Kara Brian Heck, Bismarck; grandparents-in-law, Evelyn Hanson , Della and Jack Hegel; his nieces, Samantha Kurtz, Tyra Heck, Bismarck, and Trinity Korsmo, Ashlind Uglem, Northwood; his nephews, Taiven and Brysten Loritz, Bismarck, Kaeman and Jax Heck, Bismarck, and Aiden Uglem, Northwood; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kerzman; brother, Joshua Kerzman; grandparents, Ernest and Greta Knutson, Dennis and LaVonne Kerzman, and Melvin Hanson; uncles, Neal Knutson and Butch Trinneer; and cousin, Jamey Trinneer.
