John Clement

John Clement, 81, Bismarck, died June 6, 2009, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009, at 1:30 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery with a reception immediately following at Parkway Funeral Service. John was born on November 10, 1927, in Duluth, MN, to Henry and Ruth Olsson Clement. He was raised and attended school in Duluth. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in June of 1945 and was honorably discharged in November of 1946, at Great Lakes, IL. He married Norma H. Farley in August of 1948. John completed courses for radio broadcasting and business administration at Northwestern University of Evanston, IL, Bismarck Junior College, and University of Mary. John married Georgia L. Dixon on April 20, 1973, at Newport, OR. He was employed by radio and television stations in Havre, MT, Virginia, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Pueblo, CO, Denver, CO, and Bismarck, ND. John was also employed by American Natural Resources of Detroit, MI, as administrator of community relations for the Great Plains Coal Gasification Project near Beulah, ND, from 1974 until 1981. John was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, American Legion, and Elks Club. John is survived by his wife, Georgia, of Bismarck; four daughters, Vicki Michael Millican of Texas, Lisa Hansen of California, Denise Mach of Minnesota, and Aimee Clement of Texas; four sons, Craig Clement of California, Timothy Chris Clement of Arizona, Earl Clement of Arizona, and John Christopher Clement of Arizona; Georgia’s daughter, Arnette Ron Cratty of California; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Adonna Cleve Kimmel of Montana, Carol Woodrow Frickle of Washington, and Jacqueline Erich Kuppinger of Montana; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Clement of Arizona. John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Malcolm; one granddaughter, Sasha Louise Clement; one sister-in-law, Peggy Clement; and one daughter-in-law, Norma C. Clement.
