Joseph "Joe" Craig Schulte

Our dear father, husband, brother, son, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, grampy, and treasured friend, Joseph "Joe" Craig Schulte, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on May 17, 2013 at St. Vincent's Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Craig Schweitzer officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:30 – 2:30 PM at St. Vincent's Care Center and from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Those who were lucky enough to know Joe knew that he was quite the character with a heart of gold. He was always quick to put a smile on your face, a laugh in your belly, and sincere warmth in your heart. A true grizzly bear exterior with a teddy bear soul, he loved his life and would move mountains for those he cared for. His family was the sparkle in his eye; everything Joe did, he did for them. Joe's intelligence was shown through the passion he put into his career dedication. Joe was born to Quentin and Laila Woods Schulte in Stanley, ND, on September 25, 1951, in a maternity house adjacent to where his future wife, Joey, was raised. He was raised with five adoring sisters: JoAnn Stephen Larson of Overland Park, KS, Carol Chase of Nashville, TN, Pam Mike Vaden of Nashville, TN, Jan Gary Kuhn of Manning, ND, and Stephanie Schulte-Love of Escondido, CA. Joe graduated from Stanley High School, University of North Dakota, and North Dakota State University. He then married the love of his life, Joleen "Joey" Wright on December 27, 1975, in Stanley, ND. God blessed them with three children: Hayden Gina Schulte of Bismarck, Lindsey Schulte Adam Riddle of Denver, CO, and Jay Schulte of Bismarck. Joe and Joey have four beautiful grandchildren: Cade, Teah, Keaton, and Kendal Schulte. In addition to the family members listed above, Joe is survived by his father, Quentin of Stanley, ND; his father-in-law, Stanley Wright of Stanley, ND; his sisters-in-law, Pamela Lewis Thompson of Denver, CO, and Cheri Steve Lovas of Cheyenne, WY; three nieces and eight nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Laila; his mother-in-law, Mavis Wright; and his grandparents. Please take time to celebrate all the days that Joe has been with us. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to the Bismarck Cancer Center. A very special thank you to Joe's healthcare providers.
