Kim C. White

Kim C. White, 56, Bismarck, died at home under hospice care on October 26, 2011, surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held 11:00 am Monday, October 31, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. A time of gathering will be held on Sunday, October 30, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Kim Craig White was born in Jamestown, ND, on December 16, 1954, the son of E.R. "Buck" and Marlys Thorsness White. He attended Steele Public School, graduating in 1973. He graduated from North Dakota State College of Science and began his 36-year career with the State of North Dakota in ITD. He retired June 30, 2011. Kim was united in marriage to Julie King on August 29, 1980. Kim was an outstanding athlete, playing high school basketball, football, baseball. He played college football for NDSCS. He was an avid hunter, basketball, volleyball, and softball player and was a constant noontime presence at the YMCA, cherishing each and every one of his buddies with whom he felt privileged to share these passions. He was the son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that could be counted on to help whoever needed him, an unassuming and strong presence in so many lives. His interest in track began when his son Trev ran for Bismarck High and Jamestown College. He volunteered his time at local sports events as team host for basketball and track at district, division and state tournaments. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Julie, his son, Trev Tonya, his daughter, Kristen Troy Warner, and his beautiful six-month-old granddaughter, Kaitlyn, all of Bismarck; his mother, Marlys White, Steele; sisters, Bonnie Voss, Trudy Wise Bryan Jochim, all of Bismarck; Dawn Craig Fettig, Bend, OR; brother, Dean Laura White, Bismarck; mother -in-law and father-in-law, Rob and Viv King, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Nancy King; brothers-in-law, Tom Darcy King and Steve Sandy King and cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law, Mary King Fiechtner.
