Magdalena Neidhardt Zoller

Magdalena Lena Neidhardt Zoller, 94, Bismarck, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2005 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will follow at Goodrich Cemetery, Goodrich. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Avenue, Bismarck, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Magdalena was born on August 28, 1910, the daughter of Henry and Martha Reetz Neidhardt. She was raised and educated at Hebron and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing in 1935. She worked at the Mandan Hospital before moving to Arizona. Magdalena married Otto Emil Zoller on April 1, 1937 at Newman, California. They lived in California until returning to North Dakota where they purchased a farm north of Wing. The family attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also taught Red Cross Home Nursing and First Aid Courses, was Youth Director for Florence Lake Farmers Union, and was a member of Wing Homemakers Club. After Emil's death on May 28, 1957, the family moved to Bismarck where she resumed her nursing career at Bismarck Hospital and Q & R Clinic, until retiring in 1973. After retirement she traveled extensively throughout the United States. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Quilters, Bismarck Senior Center German Singers, English Singers and Kitchen Band, and the North Dakota Nurses Association. Magdalena's hobbies included quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, making jelly, and growing African Violets, which she enjoyed sharing with others, thereby instilling the love of those things in her children and grandchildren. Magdalena is survived by five children and thirteen grandchildren, Shirley Ziegler Leno and her special friend Floyd Sense, her children, Cheryl Ed Woodcock and Cindy Lloyd Linke; Lester Diane Zoller and their children, Shelley, Kristin Kurt Kohorst, and Suzanne; Karen Ken Krass, their children, Aaron and Mike; Marjorie Bleth and her children Darwin Heather, Kevin Shawna, and Ann Clinton Heindl; and Bill Sheryl and their children, Sara Anthony Lankford, Cortney and Andrew; sixteen great-grandchildren; one soon-to-be great-great-grandson; three sisters, Dorothea Mazigian, Edna Seeberg, and Ruth Slaughter; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sons-in-law, Herbert Ziegler and Ernest Leno; her brothers, Paul, Martin, and Ernest; and her sister, Martha Hepburn. Magdalena's family wishes to express appreciation and thanks to the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center staff for their loving care and kindness given to our wonderful mother. We will miss her forever.
