Marilyn Jean Falk

Marilyn Jean Lang Falk, 56, Bismarck, died June 20, 2013, at her home in Bismarck, ND, with her loved ones at her side. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 28, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Minister Eric Benesh officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. Marilyn was born on May 16, 1957, to Gottlieb J. Lang and Catherine Schmidt Lang at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. She grew up on a farm south of Dawson, ND, west of Lake Isabel. Marilyn attended Dawson Grade School through the fifth grade. She then attended school in Steele, ND, and graduated in 1975. That summer she moved to Wahpeton, ND, and went to college at North Dakota State School of Science where she studied office management. On April 23, 1976, Marilyn married Randall D. Falk of Tappen, ND. The couple moved to Klamath Falls, OR, that same year, and lived there until October of 1979, when they moved back to North Dakota, making Bismarck their home. Marilyn loved office supplies and all that went with office management. She was quite the expert on computers and thoroughly loved researching many and various topics. She loved books and was an avid reader. She mastered all kinds of electronic gadgets with ease. Marilyn worked at Melroe Manufacturing in Bismarck, ND, as their computer support. Marilyn loved nature. She had a special interest in owls and a deep appreciation and love for trees. Fall was her favorite season with all its brilliant colors. She enjoyed photography and nature was her favorite subject. Marilyn and her husband, Randy, lived in the country north of Bismarck, where wildlife ran freely through their backyard. Marilyn and Randy were able to take a trip in April 2013 to the Oregon coast and to see the ocean, thus fulfilling a lifelong dream of Marilyn's. She returned home with many beach treasures. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 37 years, Randy Falk, Bismarck, ND; her mother, Cathie Lang, also of Bismarck; sister, Bonnie Darell TenBroek, Tensleep, WY; sister, Renee Lang, Seattle, WA; sister, Candace Andy Boyer, Walcott, ND; brother, Kevin Lang, Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Gottlieb J. Lang; and a nephew, Jace TenBroek. Marilyn's family is truly grateful for the support given to them by Sanford Hospice.
