Nicole John

Nicole April John, 36, passed away October 1, 2011 in Bismarck. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 6, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1402 E Avenue C, Bismarck, with Rev. Wes Aardahl officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Nicole was born March 29, 1975, and lived in Bismarck until 1982 when her family moved to Steele, ND. In 1990, the family moved to Mott, ND, where Nicole graduated from high school. After high school, Nicole moved to Dickinson where she attended college and worked various jobs. In 2003, Nicole returned to Bismarck where she was employed at JCPenny, Bath & Body and presently, Seeds of Hope. Nicole was a wonderful woman who always had a smile for everyone. Nicole's ability to care was beyond belief and whether you were a close friend or an acquaintance, she was always there to lend a hand or a listening ear. Nicole loved animals and treated her two cats as if they were her children. Nicole had an amazing eye for fashion. Shopping was not only something she thoroughly enjoyed, it was as if it were an Olympic Sport, and Nicole would have won Gold. Nicole was also an incredible decorator who could turn any room into a beautiful space that was elegant and welcoming. So much beauty inside and out. Despite Nicole's outward loving smile, she battled depression for years. Although it wasn't a constant daily struggle, depression was always an issue that was hard fought until the very end. She is survived by her mother, Rita John & her special friend, Gene Lehr; her brother, Kevin Stacy, and her sister Rhonda, all of Bismarck; one special niece, Justine and two wonderful nephews, Josh and Brandon Nicki; two great nephews, Logan and Brayden; her grandmother, Rose Hertz; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Nicole was preceded in death by her father, Al John and grandparents, Emil Hertz, Helmut and Alice John. If you were lucky enough to have known Nicole, remember her amazing spirit, her beautiful smile and her incredible heart.
