Olga Fallgater

Olga Fallgatter, 85, Steele, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 26, 2006, while visiting her daughter, Susan, and family in Spokane, WA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Steele Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Schoepp officiating. Burial will be Monday at 10:00 AM at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 - 9:00 PM at Eastgate Steele Chapel where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Olga "Augie" Mary Naaden Fallgatter was born to Thore and Birdie Naaden in Braddock, ND, on October 19, 1920. She grew up on the family ranch in Braddock and graduated from Braddock High School in 1938. She attended Capital Commercial College in Bismarck and went on to work for QB&R. On June 17, 1942, Augie married the love of her life, Robert C. Fallgatter U.S.N. They lived in Corpus Christi, TX, and San Diego, CA, until Bob was deployed overseas during WWII. Augie, at that time, returned to Braddock to reside with her parents. While she was there, she gave birth to a son, Robert Charles Fallgatter, Jr. Upon Bob's return from active service, they settled on a ranch in Goodrich, ND, where they would spend the next seven years. While residing there, a daughter, Susan Mary, was born. In 1953, Bob and Augie moved to a ranch south of Steele, ND, where Augie continued to live with her granddaughter, Alison. Bob passed away on May 2, 2005. Augie's greatest joy was being with her family. She also enjoyed sunsets, gardening, baking, Bible study, bird watching, listening to Rush and the Gaithers, watching baseball and March Madness. She was an active member of the Steele Presbyterian Church where she was involved with UPW, Sunday School, and was the church pianist for almost 50 years. She was also a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. She is survived by her son, Robert Jr. Kathy Fallgatter of Steele, ND; her daughter, Susan Mike Kuhn of Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren, Amy Lonnie Wolff of Steele, ND, Steve Meghan Fallgatter of Bismarck, ND, Alison Fallgatter of Steele, ND, and Tyler, Kasey, Luke, and Kane Kuhn of Spokane, WA; six great-grandchildren, Kash and Krista Wolff of Steele, ND, Jarren, Caleb, Brighton, and Elijah Fallgatter of Bismarck, ND; her sisters, Mame Eilertson of Minneapolis, MN, and Sue Grant Sherritt of State College, PA; her brothers, Pete Mary Ellen Naaden of Braddock, ND, and Bjorne Betty Naaden of Bismarck, ND; her in-laws, Evelyn Naaden of Mesa, AZ, Geri Naaden of Detroit Lakes, MN, Cal and Linda Fallgatter of Ridgecrest, CA, Wally and Eileen Fallgatter of Puyallup, WA, Wayne and Vera Fallgatter of Tulsa, OK, and Darlene Fallgatter of Steele, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Chris, Ted, and Burt.
