Theresa Koeller

Theresa C. Koeller, 82, Bismarck, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at a Bismarck care center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 26, at 10:00 AM at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 West Turnpike Avenue, Bismarck, with Rev. Lisa Ahlness officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 1:30 PM at Wayside Cemetery in Bowdon, North Dakota. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Theresa Caroline Doerr was born on February 9, 1923, near Kief, North Dakota, the daughter of August and Rose Hausauer Doerr. She was raised and attended country schools in the Skogmo and Lincoln Valley community. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Lincoln Valley Country Church. In 1929 she moved with her parents to Canada and lived in Irvin and Medicine Hat, Alberta for several years. In 1936 Theresa moved back to the United States with her parents and lived in Sheridan County north of McClusky in the Skogmo and Lincoln Valley area. In 1941 Theresa moved to Bowdon, North Dakota, where she was employed and lived until her marriage to Robert M. Koeller on December 31, 1942. They lived on a farm one mile south of Bowdon until 1946 after the birth of their son, Robert. They then moved to town where Bob and his brother, Clarence, had a business. However, farming was Bob's life and they again moved back to a farm southeast of Bowdon and farmed there until 1977 when Bob passed away on Friday, April 22, 1977, and services were held Tuesday, April 26, 1977. Theresa continued to live on the farm until 1981 when she moved to Bismarck to be near her son, Robert, daughter-in-law, Maureen Roth Koeller, and her two grandsons, Rob and Brian, the greatest joys of her life who survive her. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lea Grinde of Buffalo, Minnesota, Dorothy and Fred Zander of Mandan, North Dakota, and Florence and Marlin Thor of Minot, North Dakota; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Berneice Doerr of Bismarck, Almer and Marlene Doerr of Eagan, Minnesota, Roy and Cheryl Doerr of Minot, and Harold and Jackie Doerr of Glendale, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Doerr and Irene Doerr of Bismarck; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her brothers, Jake and his wife Myrl, Adolph "Spike", Reynie, and Emil; and her brother-in-law, Larry Grinde.
