Tyne Selena Olson

Tyne Selena Olson, 95, moved to her heavenly home on January 15, 2011. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 21, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Washington St and Divide Ave, Bismarck, with Rev. Sara Akre officiating. Burial will be in Trigg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Tyne was born August 14, 1915, in Wing, ND, the sixth child of Gust and Mary Wanhalla Eckholm. She was raised on the farm near Wing and received her education at rural schools in the area. She married Seth A Harju in 1936, who passed away in 1939. In 1946, she married Clifford Olson, who passed away in 1992. She lived in various North Dakota communities, Wing, Underwood, Fargo, West Fargo, Minot and Bismarck, during her lifetime. She ran a restaurant for a short time and later spent the majority of her working life as a department store floor manager, while raising her three children. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for 43 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Lorraine Richard Faul, Minot, and Julie RJ Smith, Hazelton; and one son, Cliff A Olson, Winnemucca, NV; her grandchildren, Michael Tanya Stebbins, Coleharbor, Faye A Stebbins, Minot, Shirley Neal Repnow, Farmington, MN, Lori Jay Frothinger, Burlington, Melanie Scott Geiger, Minot, and Merri Ron Milke, Oak Grove, MN; her great-grandchildren, Faye E. Irving Mulfinger, Bismarck, Eric Stebbins, Coleharbor, Megan Stebbins, Minot, Nikki Kent Betzold, Hampton, MN, Bobbi Chad Oates, Woodbury, MN, Joshua Frothinger, Burlington, Andrew Milke, Oak Grove, MN, and Matthew Milke, Oak Grove, MN; great-great-grandchildren, Kyle DeCouteau, Bismarck, Cami Mulfinger, Bismarck, Hannah Betzold, Hampton, MN, Emily Betzold, Hampton, MN, and Hailey Oates, Woodbury, MN; one brother, Walter Marlene Eckholm, Bismarck; two sisters, Vieno Crawford, Aurora, CO, and Lydia Newcomer, Bismarck; along with her special "adopted" daughter, Carol Larry Bellew, Minot. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Sylvia, Mamie, Selma, and Siiri; brothers, Arnie, Severi, Sulo, Eino, Andrew, and Henry; great-grandson, Jason Frothinger; and numerous extended family members. In lieu of flowers, Tyne asked that memorials be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
